Cutting quality
The cutting reels and bedknives are individually balanced and heat‑treated to preserve sharp, consistent edges. With the B‑ACT system, operators can then adjust bedknife attitude and reel‑to‑bedknife distance to achieve either a more aggressive cutting stance for maximum sharpness or a less aggressive configuration to better mask small surface imperfections.
Contour following and stability
The contour‑following system uses self‑straightening cutting units, horizontal stabilizers, and a down‑pressure spring to maintain a level, consistent cut while reducing bouncing. Adjustable reel speeds and a wide range of motion, both vertically and through unit tilting, help the mower follow ground contours smoothly for a clean finish.
BACCS
The Baroness Advance Clip Control System keeps engine speed constant even when mowing over slopes or under changing load, allowing any operator to maintain the same ground speed and clip pitch by simply setting the desired operating speed with the pedal stopper. The clip pitch can then be fine‑tuned through the reel rotation valve, making it easy to match the cutting setup to the turf conditions.
Comfortable operating area
The LM551 is designed for easy, comfortable operation with all key controls grouped on the right-side armrest, reducing hand movement and helping operators work more efficiently. Tilt steering lets operators quickly adjust the steering position for a comfortable driving posture, while the deluxe seat offers a wide sliding range, step‑less height adjustment, and reclining support to reduce fatigue. A wide entry area and an added hand grip on the left side make getting on and off the machine easier and safer.
Cross Circuit 4WD
The cross circuit system works by sending hydraulic flow from each front wheel to the opposite rear wheel, creating a diagonal connection that improves traction. This setup combines the easy turning of a parallel circuit with the strong climbing ability of a series circuit, giving balanced torque, better hill‑climbing performance, and reduced turf damage.
Rear cutting units sliding mechanism
The rear cutting units can be set in two positions—standard or 200 mm forward—to improve contour following and prevent crabbing or uncut areas on slopes. They can slide forward during tight turns, swing out for easy setup, and are supported by a lift‑assist spring that balances down pressure for an even cut and avoids double cutting. Electronically timed sequential lowering ensures the rear units drop in line with the front units, with independently controlled lowering speeds that help the mower follow ground contours smoothly.
